Herbaceous release

After site preparation, some foresters continue to improve their stands by controlling unwanted vegetation during the first few growing seasons. Other foresters utilize release as the primary vegetation management treatment. Either way, Dow AgroSciences offers several release solutions for hardwood, mixed species and pine plantations. Mid/Late rotation understory release

Foresters wanting to reduce the time between harvest and planting oftentimes release the understory in the latter years of a stand. By controlling this competing vegetation late in the tract’s life, you can improve accessibility, shorten the rotation, reduce the threat of damage to trees from fire and enhance wildlife habitat. Dow AgroSciences offers a variety of herbicides suitable for mid- and late-rotation release, including Accord Concentrate, Accord XRT II, Garlon 3A, Forestry Garlon XRT and Vista herbicides.
